Aquatine Calcite Polished Point

 By trade name only, this "onyx" is actually calcite since is fizzes with hydrochloric acid solution.  The rock industry leaves the naming to the miners and lapidary shops who classify most calcites with with waves and lines as "onyx".  We know, a little confusing.  Onyx on the other hand is basically micro-quartz and will not fizz in an acid solution. 

Blue calcite from Brazil is also called Aquatine Calcite  Regardless of its name, this is a gorgeous color showing the rough rock sides and a polished pointed tip

Measuring approximately 2.4 inches in length, 4 inches in height, and 1.2 inches in width. Weighing approximately .7 pounds. Exact coloring, measurements ,and weight will vary between pieces as each is unique.
