Kyanite is found in aluminium-rich metamorphic pegmatites and sedimentary rock. It is the high pressure polymorph of andalusite and sillimanite. Kyanite has a triclinic crystal sttructure, has a Mohs hardness around 5 and regardless of the color of the crystal, has a white streak. Blue and black are the common colors but also can be orange, green, pink and yellow. Kyanite is usually found in elongated blades and can be UV reactive,
