Polished Moss Agate Minilith

Moss Agate is a variety of the microcrystalline quartz chalcedony. Inclusions of hornblende, chlorite, and other manganese and iron-based minerals give the stone a mossy appearance. Usually green, white, and transparent in color, but can sometimes contain red.

These mini monoliths show how exquisite moss agates can be showing the layers in the depths.  Some of the non-quartz portions (green chlorite) are recessed in, further showing the depths. This moss agate is likely from India and the cutting and polishing from China.

Measuring approximately 2 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide and 0.75 inches in depth. Weighing .19 pounds. Exact measurements, weight, and coloring may vary slightly between pieces as each is unique.
